GTA Online’s upcoming update transforms players into art thieves, set for a July launch.
The upcoming heist in Grand Theft Auto Online is set to transform players into both art aficionados and cunning thieves with the introduction of the Kortz Center Heist. If you’ve ever fantasized about executing a grand art heist reminiscent of the Louvre, or simply want to deck out your mansion with exquisite pieces, this update is tailor-made for you.
Scheduled for release on July 14, the Kortz Center Heist will challenge players to surveil the museum, devise their strategy, and make off with valuable paintings that can be showcased in their homes. What adds an exciting twist to this heist is that players won’t just be leaving empty walls behind; they’ll be swapping out the stolen masterpieces with clever forgeries.
To successfully pull off this intricate art theft, players will need to set up an art studio where a skilled counterfeiter will replicate the targeted artworks. The heist begins with players scouting the museum, capturing discreet photos of the paintings without raising alarms, and figuring out the best way to infiltrate and exit the cultural hub without getting caught.
You can choose to tackle this mission solo or team up with up to three other players, as having additional help might increase your chances of escaping with more loot. Your main contact for the heist will be Raf, who will provide crucial reconnaissance and intel as you carry out your meticulously crafted plans.
Once you’ve secured the stolen art, you can either sell it on the black market or keep it for your private collection. Players can look forward to a variety of paintings, including a playful take on David Hockney’s Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures), a piece inspired by L.S. Lowry featuring San Andreas characters, and a Baroque-style artwork based on the “Deal” ending from Grand Theft Auto 4. Rockstar promises that there will be three new paintings to steal each week, along with plenty of options for how to approach each heist.
Mark your calendars for July 14, as the Kortz Center Heist arrives in GTA Online, providing a thrilling distraction while we await more news on Grand Theft Auto 6.
Grand Theft Auto Online is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. With no updates yet on what GTA 6’s online experience might entail, players will have to rely on GTA Online for their multiplayer fix for the time being.
