Guide to Catching Klawf and Shiny Dhelmise in Pokémon Go
Two new Pokémon have made their debut in Pokémon Go! As part of the Pinch Perfect event, you can now add the rock-type crab Pokémon, Klawf, to your roster. Additionally, shiny Dhelmise has been introduced, giving you your first chance to catch this rare variant. While both Pokémon will be available after the event, your best opportunity to snag them is during the Pinch Perfect festivities. Here’s how to catch both Klawf and shiny Dhelmise before the event wraps up.
**How to Get Klawf**
Even though Klawf is a highlight of the Pinch Perfect event, you won’t find it in the wild or as a Raid boss. The only way to encounter Klawf is by completing Field and Timed Research tasks. The game will feature several free, event-themed Field Research tasks until January 11. Unlike other Research tasks, these can be obtained by spinning the Photo Discs at PokéStops. While most tasks will reward you with Stardust or Poké Balls, completing the “Win a Raid” task will lead to an encounter with either Klawf or Dhelmise. Additionally, three free Timed Research questlines will be available throughout the event. Completing all tasks in each questline will reward you with an encounter with Klawf, along with some XP and Stardust. You can also buy a paid Timed Research Ticket from the in-game shop for extra tasks and more chances to catch Klawf.
**Pinch Perfect Timed Research**
Here are the Timed Research questlines available during the Pinch Perfect event:
– **Dwebble Timed Research (January 6-8)**
– Catch 5 Pokémon – Dwebble encounter
– Catch 10 Pokémon – Dwebble encounter
– Catch 15 Pokémon – Dwebble encounter
– Catch 20 Pokémon – Dwebble encounter
– Catch 25 Pokémon – Dwebble encounter
– **Reward:** 950 XP, 950 Stardust, Klawf encounter
**Can Klawf Be Shiny?**
Currently, Klawf is shiny locked, meaning none of the ones you encounter in Pokémon Go will be shiny. There’s no information yet on when shiny Klawf will be added to the game, but new shiny forms are typically introduced during events, so it’s likely that shiny Klawf will appear in a future event.
**How to Get Shiny Dhelmise**
While shiny Klawf isn’t available yet, shiny Dhelmise has finally arrived! Each time you encounter the ghost/grass Pokémon, there’s a chance you’ll find a shiny one, which features red seaweed instead of green. Similar to Klawf, you can encounter Dhelmise by completing specific Field Research tasks during the event. Dhelmise will also appear in Gyms as a three-star Raid boss, so be sure to participate in as many Dhelmise Raids as possible during the event to increase your chances of catching a shiny.
The Pinch Perfect event runs from January 6-11, but there are plenty of other exciting events lined up for this month, including Grookey Community Day and a Precious Pals celebration.
