HBO Unveils Thrilling 11-Second Teaser for Green Lantern Series

The first teaser for the upcoming series “Lanterns” has dropped, giving us a quick glimpse into the world of the Green Lantern Corps. Clocking in at just 11 seconds, this brief clip packs a punch. The series focuses on Hal Jordan, played by Kyle Chandler, as he trains his successor, John Stewart, portrayed by Aaron Pierre, in the ways of the power ring. Nathan Fillion will also make an appearance as Guy Gardner.

The teaser kicks off with Hal and John speeding down a mountain road in a car. Hal tells John that he won’t truly be ready to wield the power ring until it chooses him, placing it on the dashboard. In a bold move, he then leaps out of the driver’s seat, sending the car plummeting off a cliff, leaving us hanging at that thrilling moment.

Despite its short length, the teaser effectively captures Hal Jordan’s reckless and daring nature, instantly sparking curiosity about what comes next. One can only assume John will find a way to use the ring to escape, and the anticipation to see that unfold is palpable. It also hints at the dynamic between Hal and John, setting the stage for their chemistry on screen.

The Green Lantern franchise has had its ups and downs, especially after the 2011 film featuring Ryan Reynolds, which didn’t resonate well with audiences and critics, becoming somewhat of a running joke, even with Reynolds himself poking fun at it.

“Lanterns” is set to premiere on HBO Max in early 2026. In the meantime, keep an eye out for all the exciting DC movies and shows on the horizon.
