Helldivers 2 Added to PlayStation Plus Game Catalog
Sony and Arrowhead Game Studios’ Helldivers 2 has just landed on PlayStation Plus. Starting Wednesday, the game is now part of the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, granting subscribers of PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium full access.
This addition coincides with the release of the game’s major update, Devoid of Liberty. Arrowhead reveals that the Illuminate have broadened their war front into the Void, leading to bizarre mutations on several liberty-stripped planets. Players will need to take down Illuminate spires and gateways, conduct data reconnaissance, and infiltrate Illuminate structures, all while supported by the new Super Earth Armed Forces (SEAF).
SEAF now acts as a planet modifier in Helldivers 2, joining players in combat during missions and boosting their firepower with an array of new gear, including stim pistols and heavy machine guns.
The update also introduces fresh secondary objectives, such as eliminating Void mutations and gathering research materials, along with new extraction zones for quicker escapes.
The new Void mutations, detailed in the game’s patch notes, include:
The Crusher, a formidable foe that regenerates while taking damage and must be consistently worn down without pause.
The Wretch, a fast and agile enemy that demands quick reflexes and precise aim, capable of dodging and leaping towards players while dismantling their weapons and resolve.
PlayStation Plus Essential is priced at $79.99 annually, $27.99 for a three-month subscription, or $10.99 monthly, following a price increase across all tiers in May.
Helldivers 2 is available on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
The Imperium is joining forces with Super Earth.
