Highguard developers are responding to player feedback and preparing to introduce popular new features in the upcoming patch.
Highguard’s developer, Wildlight Entertainment, has announced that the first patch for the game has been submitted and is currently awaiting approval from platform holders.
On the PlayHighguard Twitter account, the team shared, “We’ve been quieter today as we worked on the new patch. It’s complete, submitted, and we’re waiting on platform approval with the rest of you. You’ll get prompted to update when it gets pushed through!”
While the tweet didn’t provide specific details, the developers previously mentioned they are addressing player feedback, including the addition of highly requested features like FoV sliders for consoles, toggle options for ADS and crouch, and enhanced graphics scaling for PC. They also responded to a player inquiring about the Highguard Twitch drop, indicating that the team is actively working on that as well.
After a somewhat awkward reveal at The Game Awards and a month of silence, Highguard faced a tough challenge. The game launched to “Mostly Negative” reviews on Steam, and while I wasn’t initially drawn to it, such a rating shortly after release suggests it may not have received a fair evaluation. Nonetheless, there have been performance issues that the developers are eager to resolve quickly.
The team has confirmed that full patch notes will be available once the update goes live, which should address many of the technical issues players are experiencing.
Former FPS pro Shroud noted that Highguard’s “vision is there,” but technical problems are currently hindering the fantasy shooter.
