Highguard Reveals New Gameplay Ahead of Upcoming Launch

The reveal of Highguard—a new free-to-play PVP shooter crafted by ex-Respawn developers at Wildlight Studios—was intended to make a splash at the end of 2025’s The Game Awards. However, since its announcement in December, there has been a notable lack of updates from the team.

After a period of quiet, Highguard is finally stirring: a video has been uploaded to the official Highguard YouTube channel, set to premiere on Monday at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. Titled “Highguard | Official Launch Showcase,” the video isn’t viewable just yet, but the thumbnail confirms that the game is still on track for its January 26 release.

The showcase promises to deliver a comprehensive gameplay deep dive, plans for the first year, and more. Considering that the only glimpse players have had so far is a brief two-and-a-half-minute trailer, this upcoming presentation is expected to provide a wealth of new information. Importantly, it reassures fans that Highguard hasn’t been delayed, and players will soon discover what the talented team behind Titanfall and Apex Legends has in store when Highguard launches on Monday. Following that, they’ll also get a look at the game’s future roadmap.

Highguard is set to launch on January 26 for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
