Highlights from Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026

The gaming world’s premier event is making its return. Gamescom 2026 kicks off in Germany this week, starting with Opening Night Live and then transitioning to the show floor for several days packed with demos, reveals, and hands-on experiences with some of the most anticipated titles on the horizon. We already have a glimpse of confirmed games: gameplay from Final Fantasy 7: Revelation, our first look at Game of Thrones: War for Westeros, new insights into The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, and more from Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons.

And then there are the wish-list items we hope to see: a substantial update on Witcher 4, any news regarding Resident Evil Code: Veronica, some much-needed enhancements for Sony’s AAA lineup, and, honestly, just anything from Nintendo.

Expect coverage throughout the week featuring the biggest announcements from Opening Night Live, hands-on impressions from the show floor, and any surprises that Gamescom 2026 has in store.
