Highlights from Today’s PlayStation State of Play Event

It seems like these digital showcases just keep getting longer, and Sony’s latest State of Play was a hefty hour-long presentation packed with new titles for the PS5. If you missed the live stream, you can catch it below, but if you’re just after the key moments, here’s the rundown.

The show kicked off with *Kena: Scars of Kosmora*, the sequel to *Kena: Bridge of Spirits*. We got a glimpse of its stunning fantasy action and expansive open world, featuring a slightly older Kena at the helm. It’s visually striking—was the first game this Horizon-like? Expect it on PS5 and PC later this year.

Next up, Sucker Punch showcased *Legends*, the co-op multiplayer aspect of *Ghost of Yotei*. We saw four classes teaming up to take on demon hordes in what looks like epic raid-style gameplay. It’s set to launch on March 10.

Kojima’s latest project is making the jump from PS5 to PC on March 19.

Bad Robot Studios introduced *4: LOOP*, a cooperative sci-fi shooter filled with grotesque monsters, roguelike elements, and endlessly replayable missions. A beta test is on the horizon for later this year.

Then we got a peek at Capcom’s *Pragmata*, a puzzle shooter with a character-driven narrative. The trailer featured its two main characters discussing their backstories before being pursued by some creepy creatures. The game is set to release on April 24, and a demo is available now.

*Resident Evil Requiem* is just around the corner, launching in about two weeks. This title features Grace and Leon in a gripping tale that balances methodical horror with high-octane action, including a return to Leon’s old Raccoon City police department.

A remaster of *Legacy of Kain: Defiance* is on its way to PS4 and PS5, complete with enhanced visuals, a photo mode, a third-person camera, and some behind-the-scenes features. It’s set to launch on March 3.

The latest installment in the fantasy strategy RPG series is also coming to PS5 later this year.

*Dead or Alive 6* is getting an update with *Last Round*, which will introduce new characters, costumes, and a photo mode, with more updates planned in the coming months. It launches on June 25, available in both a paid premium version and a free-to-play edition.

Additionally, a new *Dead or Alive* game is officially in the works.

We were treated to an extensive gameplay showcase for *Control Resonant*, the upcoming action sequel to *Control*. It looks like it will satisfy any *Devil May Cry* cravings you might have… assuming we don’t get a new *Devil May Cry* announcement by the end of this presentation.

I thought they were about to drop a new *Devil May Cry* with all the metal music and talk of being a demon half-breed, but instead, we got *Crimson Moon*, a dark fantasy action game set for 2026.

Game Freak made an appearance with *Beast of Reincarnation*, a fantasy action RPG from the creators of *Pokémon*, launching on August 4.

If you’re looking to relive the original *Rayman*, the sidescroller is being bundled with a host of behind-the-scenes features. It’s set to release digitally tomorrow, with physical copies hitting stores on June 26.

After several delays, *Mina the Hollower* is finally coming out later this year. You can try Yacht Club Games’ latest project tomorrow with a PlayStation-exclusive demo.

A prequel to the 2024 puzzle platformer *Nevai* is scheduled for February 19.

*Yakoh Shionobi Ops* is a violent stealth action co-op game arriving on PS5 in 2027.

*Project Windless*, inspired by the Korean fantasy series *The Bird That Drinks Tears*, looks like a musou-style game featuring a sword-wielding bird man battling entire armies solo.

We got a glimpse of gameplay from the upcoming *Star Wars* title *Galactic Racer*, which promises an action-packed arcade racing experience set in a galaxy far, far away. It’s set to launch later this year.

Next, we saw a new trailer for *007: First Light* from the developers of *Hitman*. The trailer highlights the early, reckless days of the secret agent. The game is set to launch on May 27.

Konami had its own segment, showcasing the second *Master Collection* for *Metal Gear Solid*. This collection will bring *Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots* to PS5 for the first time, along with *Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker*. It launches on August 27, and the first *Master Collection* is also getting an update to enhance the resolution for the first and third games.

Taking a sharp turn, we were introduced to *Darwin’s Paradox*, a puzzle platformer starring an octopus. A demo is available now, with the full game set to release on April 2.

Perhaps the most thrilling announcement from Konami was *Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse*, marking the first new 2D *Castlevania* game since 2008’s *Order of Ecclesia*. This title is being developed in collaboration with Evil Empire and Motion Twin to celebrate the series’ 40th anniversary.

Konami is really bringing out the big guns. *Silent Hill: Townfall* is a collaboration with Annapurna, presenting a first-person, methodical horror experience set for 2026.

Shifting back to anime RPGs, we got a glimpse of *Rev. Noir*, a new JRPG that draws inspiration from titles like *Tales* and *Final Fantasy*, though we only saw a teaser showcasing its cast.

*John Wick* is getting a new video game, and while we didn’t see much gameplay, we did catch Keanu Reeves in action, seemingly reprising his role.

Next, Bungie unveiled a new trailer for *Marathon*, which leans into a compelling sci-fi psychological thriller vibe. A preview weekend is scheduled from February 26 to March 2, leading up to the launch on March 5.

As previously mentioned, *Spider-Man 2* is coming to PlayStation Plus on February 17. *Tekken: Dark Resurrection* will also join the classics catalog in March, with *Time Crisis* following in May.

*Big Walk* will launch as a PlayStation Plus title when it arrives on PS5 in 2026.

Housemarque showcased more of *Saros*, its upcoming roguelike shooter featuring *Fall of the House of Usher* actor Rahul Kohli, diving deep into its mechanics. It looks to be a challenging game, which is typical for the developer of *Returnal*, but with persistent upgrades, it may be more accessible for those who found the last one tough.

We also saw new *X-Men* fighters joining the roster of Arc System Works’ *Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls*, including Storm, Magik, Wolverine, and Danger. The game is set to launch on PS5 and PC on August 6.

The original *God of War* trilogy is getting a full remake for PS5, but details are scarce. TC Carson, the original voice of Kratos, made a brief appearance to tease the project, which is still in the early stages.

Mega Cat Studios also revealed a sidescrolling *God of War* game titled *Sons of Sparta*, set in Greece and featuring a much younger Kratos, which is available today.

Well, no *Devil May Cry* after all, despite the rumors. That went by quicker than I expected. At least I now have one more *God of War* game to dive into than I did an hour ago.
