Honkai: Star Rail Leaker Misses Court Date, Faces $16,500 Judgment Over Alleged Leaks

A leaker from Honkai: Star Rail seems to have found a way to dodge a hefty $156,600 lawsuit from Genshin Impact’s developer, HoYoverse, simply by ignoring it.

It appears that some issues can vanish if you just look the other way. According to reports, the leaker, known as Alfredo Lopez, shared a pre-release stream featuring the character Castorice before her official reveal in 2025 within a Discord channel boasting 12,000 members. This prompted HoYoverse to pursue the maximum $150,000 in damages for copyright infringement, along with an additional $6,600 in attorney fees. Despite the legal action, Lopez never responded to the lawsuit, casually mentioning on Discord, “It’s okay. It doesn’t bother me…”

“They got like 3 screenshots on me,” he remarked. “Lmao never knew I would get famous.”

These comments were added to HoYoverse’s lawsuit as evidence against him, but Lopez still managed to catch a break.

Even with his lack of response to the copyright infringement claim and what Judge André Birotte, Jr. described as “an apparent disregard for the action,” the judge noted that Lopez had removed the problematic stream. As a result, Lopez now owes HoYoverse only $15,000 in damages and $1,500 in legal fees.

Compared to the developer’s initial demand of $150,000, this reduced amount seems almost manageable—though $15,000 still feels a bit steep for Castorice.
