Hytale Enters Early Access Today
Six months ago, Hytale faced cancellation by Riot Games after a decade of development. However, co-founder Simon Collins-Laflamme stepped in to rescue the development studio Hypixel in November 2025, and now Hytale is gearing up for early access today. According to the countdown on Hytale’s official site, the game is set to launch on January 13 at 7 AM PT/10 AM ET. Initially, Hytale will be available exclusively on PC, with Mac and Linux versions to follow. It’s worth noting that Hytale won’t be on Steam; players will need to download the Hytale Launcher to access the game.
There are three editions of Hytale available for purchase:
– **Hytale Standard Edition**
Price: $24
Includes the Voyager, Savanna, and Forest Guardian cosmetic sets, along with the Forest Guardian Cape.
– **Hytale Supporter Edition**
Price: $42
Contains everything from the Standard Edition plus the Featherbound, Scavenger, and Arctic Scout sets, each with their capes, as well as the Knight Cape and Explorer Goggles.
– **Hytale Cursebreaker Founder’s Edition**
Price: $84
Features all items and sets from both the Standard and Supporter editions, plus four additional cosmetic sets (Hope of Gaia, Void Hero, Pop Star, Voidbearer) and two exclusive capes (Royal Emissary, New Beginning).
Collins-Laflamme expressed his commitment to keeping Hytale’s pricing as low as possible, stating, “I’m taking on a considerable personal risk after repurchasing the game and getting it ready for early access for a growing team of now 50 talented individuals. I said I was all in, and I am delivering on that promise.” He also advised fans to manage their expectations, noting that the game is still unfinished and has bugs to address. He shared that support from preorders has “officially secured the next two years of development” leading up to the launch.
Hypixel has also provided mod creators with access to the game, allowing them to prepare Hytale mods for the January 13 release. These creations will be available on Curseforge.
