In the latest episode of Fallout season 2, Lucy taps into her darker instincts, and Ella Purnell is here for it.

Ella Purnell, who stars in Fallout season 2, has shared her thoughts on Lucy MacLean’s shocking violent transformation in episode 4, and it’s clear she loved it. In fact, she considers it her “favorite part” of this chapter in the Prime Video series.

“I was blown away. If it were any other character, you might think, ‘Yeah, it’s just Fallout,’ but with Lucy, it feels so scandalous,” Purnell expressed in a post-episode interview. “It’s like when your little sister goes out and gets a bit wild – it’s just wild.”

She added, “It was really fun to explore that side of her character, and it was a new experience for me. I haven’t done much like that in my career. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but thankfully, it went well.”

In the episode titled ‘The Demon in the Snow,’ directed by Stephen Williams, Lucy wakes up in a New California Republic camp, connected to a mysterious drip. As she leaves the safe zone with The Ghoul (played by Walton Goggins), she begins to experience intense itchiness and mood swings, leading her to lose all inhibitions and gleefully take out a group of Elvis impersonators on the outskirts of New Vegas. It turns out she’s become addicted to Buffout.

“She’s incredibly tough and brave, much braver than I would be in that situation,” Purnell noted. “Playing a character who doesn’t even think about death for just a moment changes the stakes entirely, altering the tension in the scene and the character’s drive. I got to incorporate some comedy into it, which was a blast.”

Fallout season 2 continues on January 14.
