Injustice 3 Leak Hints at Two Exciting New DC Heroes

New evidence suggests that a new entry in the Injustice series may be in development. Recently, a job resume was discovered that mentioned the unannounced title. A stunt actor listed her role as a double for Injustice 3, working under coordinator Jake Huang, who previously handled stunt work for Mortal Kombat 1. Although the resume has since been updated to remove references to the game, an Internet Archive backup confirms that Injustice characters were noted as early as July.

This listing not only strengthens the case for NetherRealm Studios’ next project being another installment in the DC fighting game franchise but also hints at the inclusion of two characters: Supergirl and Batwoman. Supergirl (Kara Zor-El) previously appeared in Injustice 2, where she was voiced by the talented Laura Bailey.

Batwoman, on the other hand, has not been featured in either Injustice title, primarily because her character is deceased in this storyline. For those unfamiliar, the Injustice series unfolds in an alternate DC universe where the Joker manipulates Superman into killing Lois Lane and obliterating Metropolis. This tragedy turns Superman into a tyrannical figure who eliminates perceived criminals, prompting Batman to lead a rebellion against his regime. In addition to the two main games released in 2013 and 2017, the franchise also includes an animated film adaptation and a prequel comic, which details Batwoman’s demise. As for her potential return, Injustice 3 might explore events set before the previous games, or, given the superhero genre’s penchant for resurrection, she could be revived through the Lazarus Pit or multiverse antics.

In addition to the recent resume leak, a week prior, a job posting for a playtester for an “unreleased AAA 2D fighting game” surfaced, which many believe is linked to the anticipated Injustice 3. Furthermore, several voice actors have hinted at the game’s existence, and NetherRealm’s creative director, Ed Boon, has been sharing Injustice clips on social media. The timing also makes sense: there was a four-year gap between the studio’s last two releases, and it has been nearly four years since Mortal Kombat 1 launched. If Injustice 3 is indeed on the horizon, fans are hoping for a departure from the less favorable gameplay mechanics of the past.

Injustice enthusiasts are buzzing with excitement following this unexpected potential leak.
