Introducing a Stylish Limited Edition DualSense Controller
Amid the recent reveal of Marathon, Bungie has shared some exciting details, including the launch of a limited edition PlayStation 5 DualSense controller that will debut alongside the game. This controller stands out from the recent offerings with a design that actually appeals to the eye.
The Marathon-themed DualSense controller is priced at $85 and will be available for pre-order starting January 29 at 10:00 a.m. local time on the official PlayStation site. Alongside it, a Pulse Elite wireless headset will also be released, but it comes with a steeper price of $170. Personally, I’ve never been a fan of the Pulse headset’s design, and the Marathon aesthetic doesn’t do much to change my mind.
What I appreciate most about the Marathon DualSense is its sleek design and how well the typography and icons integrate with the controller’s overall look. It feels like a natural fit, especially compared to some other recent limited edition controllers. The Death Stranding 2 controller had its moments but felt a bit uninspired, especially with that oversized bronze block on the touchpad. On the other hand, the Ghost of Yharnam controller looked like it was covered in gold dust, which wasn’t exactly appealing.
Kudos to the Marathon controller for keeping its branding subtle, with the game’s name discreetly displayed in neon on the underside. Is this controller more visually appealing than the Concord one? I think it is. Will it be as rare? Likely! Let’s just hope Marathon doesn’t end up being a flop.
