Introducing the Exciting New K-Pop Demon Hunters Lego Set!
After a sneak peek earlier this year, Lego has officially unveiled the first set from its collaboration with KPop Demon Hunters, featuring the quirky Derpy the demon tiger and Sussie, the hat-wearing demon bird.
This 825-piece set is set to drop on August 1 for $70. Derpy comes with two different expressions: his classic wide-eyed look and a playful tongue-out pose, complete with the invitation cards that Jinu and Rumi exchange for their secret meet-ups in the film. Sussie is designed to perch on Derpy’s head, adding a fun touch. The set also includes a flower pot, which fans of KPop Demon Hunters will recognize as Derpy’s nemesis, given his tendency to knock them over throughout the movie, all while lacking thumbs to set them upright again.
Lego emphasizes that this set is intended for both display and play, allowing kids to engage with the big cat during playtime. However, at $70 and with so many pieces, it seems more likely to end up on a high shelf where little ones will have to stretch to see it. But hey, to each their own!
More KPop Demon Hunters Lego sets are on the horizon for next year, though details are still under wraps. It’s likely we’ll see sets featuring the main Huntr/x trio and possibly the villainous Saja Boys. Fingers crossed for some minifigures in the future—I’d definitely snag a Rumi to add to my collection.
KPop Demon Hunters is nearing its first anniversary next month, with plans for a theatrical re-release on Netflix. A sequel is officially in development, along with a live tour in the works for fans to look forward to.
