Introducing the OneXSugar Wallet: The First Handheld Gaming Device with a Folding Screen

Folding OLED displays are primarily seen in high-end smartphones and laptops, but One-Netbook is set to introduce this technology in a new gaming device. The OneXSugar Wallet draws inspiration from the company’s earlier folding handheld, the OneXSugar Sugar 1, but instead of two screens, it features a single expansive 8.01-inch OLED display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, as noted by Retro Handhelds.

The OneXSugar Wallet was unveiled on China’s Weibo, though details about its features and specifications remain sparse. The folding OLED screen boasts a resolution of 2480 x 1860 pixels, and the device will be powered by an unspecified “Qualcomm gaming platform flagship processor,” leaving its performance and emulation capabilities a mystery.

According to images and a video shared by One-Netbook, the OneXSugar Wallet will come equipped with a standard control layout, including asymmetrical thumbsticks, four action buttons, and a D-pad on either side of the lower half of the display. Additionally, it features shoulder buttons and triggers on the back, along with a pair of front-facing speakers positioned above the screen. The pressing question is its price point. While there are handheld consoles available for around $1,000, folding screen devices like the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 are closer to the $2,000 mark. Will gamers be willing to invest in the OneXSugar Wallet if it falls into a similar price range? Perhaps its name hints at the financial commitment required.
