“Is It Worth the Grind? Player Invests 300 Hours Over 2 Months for Rare Achievement, Only to Be Disappointed”

Hard work can be essential, but have you ever thought about how grueling it can be? One Arc Raiders player found out the hard way, dedicating herself to a rare achievement that only 14 others have unlocked.

Streamer and YouTuber Eskay committed what she claims were “two months and 300 hours” to earn a unique Arc Raiders achievement, and her determination is nothing short of remarkable. However, she questions whether the sacrifices made to achieve the Cantina Legend rank—accessible only to the top 100 players in the already competitive Hotshot rank—were truly worth it.

“I spent two months and 300 hours chasing an Arc Raiders achievement that only 14 people have ever gotten. Then I spent another month compiling all the footage and editing it together. This is the result, it’s uploaded to my main channel and I’m really proud of it!!” she shared, giving a glimpse of her journey.

“Because you can only rank up a max of twice per week,” Eskay explains in a video chronicling her intense grind, “getting Cantina Legend means double promoting every single week for the entire season. As the weeks progress, it becomes increasingly difficult since you’ll only face off against players who have also double promoted consistently.”

“You thought I was grinding? I have 250 hours,” Eskay admits. “These guys have 500, if not 600. And honestly, they’re just better than me… as much as I hate to admit it.”

After enduring stress, sweat, and tough matches, Eskay finally reaches the Cantina rank. Yet, in her video description, she reflects, “Was it worth it? Not really.”

“To be honest, I’m struggling to view this experience positively,” she confesses. “I temporarily derailed my life to play Arc Raiders Trials. I neglected so many responsibilities. I missed out on time with friends who only visit once a year. I skipped dinners, the gym, and even put my career on hold. I nearly missed a trip to Paris. And for what? A skin?”

Arc Raiders has a scheduling issue, and it seems to be worsening with the introduction of Bird City: “Hey, unemployed people, are you enjoying the new map event?”
