Joe Musashi from Shinobi is set to take down Dr. Robotnik.
The iconic villains from Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog, Golden Axe, and Yakuza franchises are set to invade Shinobi: Art of Vengeance this April, as announced by developer Lizardcube. The Sega Villains Stage DLC will launch on April 3 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
A newly released trailer showcases these notorious foes in action: Dr. Robotnik (also known as Eggman) faces off against Joe Musashi in the vibrant Green Hill Zone; Goro Majima wreaks havoc on the rain-soaked streets of Kamurochō; and Death Adder looms over his ninja opponent in a throne room inspired by Golden Axe.
When the DLC drops next month, players can expect the following content:
The DLC is bundled with the Digital Deluxe Edition of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, priced at $39.99. For those who prefer, it can also be purchased separately for $9.99, and players with the standard edition can upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition for $11.99.
Additionally, a free update will roll out on April 3, introducing a Hardcore Mode, tweaks to the combat system, and enhancements to character outlines, map, and tutorial displays.
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance was a standout title in 2025. It blends classic action with modern Metroid-inspired exploration, delivering a visually stunning and engaging experience. The revival of the Shinobi series by Lizardcube has left fans wondering which Sega franchise might be next on their list for a comeback.
It’s been an exciting year for slicing through foes with a sword!
