Join the T-1000 in a thrilling chase against your friends in the Terminator 2 board game!

Nearly 35 years after its debut, James Cameron’s iconic action film, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, is getting a fresh spin as a board game. Bitmap Bureau launched the compact yet impressive Terminator 2D: No Fate in December, while Cation Arts, known for Conqueror: Final Conquest, is gearing up for a Kickstarter campaign for Terminator 2: The Board Game later this year.

In this game, one to three players will embody Sarah Connor, John Connor, and the T-800, working together to thwart Skynet while evading the relentless T-1000. The strategies players employ to achieve objectives and dodge ambushes will influence the T-1000’s actions, which will evolve alongside the characters throughout the game. A Versus mode allows one player to take on the role of the T-1000, making tactical decisions to sabotage the heroes’ efforts.

Terminator 2: The Board Game features a noise management system reminiscent of Awaken Realms’ Alien-themed board game, Nemesis. Players must balance risk and reward, as bold moves can attract the T-1000’s attention. Unlike Nemesis, which leans towards semi-cooperative gameplay with players competing against each other, this game emphasizes collaboration. Players will share an experience grid to enhance their characters and advance the narrative.

The game promises three distinct endgame scenarios, each with unique campaign objectives, including a multi-stage final mission culminating in a showdown with the T-1000. To prepare for this climactic battle, players will explore locations from the film, encountering random events that allow them to recruit allies, gather gear, and upgrade their skills.

Terminator 2: The Board Game is set to launch on Kickstarter in 2026, joining a lineup of other board game adaptations of beloved sci-fi films like The Thing, Star Wars: Rebellion, and Dune: Imperium.
