Kagurabachi’s anime debut is set for this summer.

Few manga have generated as much excitement recently as Kagurabachi, the battle series that launched in Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2023. Fans quickly began calling for an anime adaptation, and their wishes were fulfilled last April with an official announcement. The Kagurabachi anime is set to premiere in April 2027, but eager viewers won’t have to wait that long to see the first episode.

A special Kagurabachi Anime World Tour is scheduled to kick off this summer at various anime conventions, featuring a world premiere screening of the first 20 minutes of the series. While initial details were scarce, an official announcement has now clarified when and where fans can catch a glimpse of Kagurabachi nearly a year ahead of its official release.

The tour will launch at Anime Expo in Los Angeles on July 3, followed by Japan Expo Paris on July 9. Next, it will make a stop at AnimagiC in Mannheim, Germany, on August 1, before returning to the U.S. for Anime NYC in New York on August 22.

In addition to the exclusive screening, the tour will host panel sessions featuring lead voice actor Taihi Kimura (Chihiro Rokuhira), manga editor Takuro Imamura, cross-media producer Riki Azuma, and anime producer Koichi Yasuda. Full details can be found on the Kagurabachi World Tour official website.

It’s quite rare for an anime to showcase its first episode nearly a year before its official launch, which underscores the level of care and dedication being invested in this series by Cypic studios. Described as a “neo-Japanese sword action series,” Kagurabachi combines intense sword fights with unexpected magic in a fast-paced battle manga that keeps the adrenaline flowing. The English version of the original manga is available online through Manga Plus and in print/digital formats.
