KPop Demon Hunters Wraps Up Its Reign on Netflix

After an impressive 46-week run in the top 10 movies on Netflix in the U.S., the animated sensation KPop Demon Hunters has finally exited the streaming service’s charts, as per Netflix’s tracking data. This marks the end of a remarkable chapter for KPop Demon Hunters, which has been a fixture in the top 10 since its explosive launch in June 2025.

As of the week ending May 10, KPop Demon Hunters has relinquished its top-10 spot, thanks to fresh contenders like the animated body-swapping flick Swapped, the clever octopus drama Remarkably Bright Creatures, and Charlize Theron’s action-packed Apex.

However, it’s not all doom and gloom for Rumi, Zoey, and Mira: KPop Demon Hunters still holds strong as a global favorite. The animated feature has maintained its position in Netflix’s top 10 English-language movies for global audiences for an impressive 47 weeks, recently landing at No. 5 worldwide. The franchise is set to continue its success for the foreseeable future.

2025 was undoubtedly the year of KPop Demon Hunters, with the demon-slaying K-pop divas taking over both Billboard and Netflix charts. The film even enjoyed a brief but successful theatrical run. Its dominance persisted throughout the year, with main characters Rumi, Zoey, and Mira making appearances in Epic Games’ Fortnite, while the voice actors—Ejae (Rumi), Audrey Nuna (Mira), and Rei Ami (Zoey)—graced shows like Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

While 2025 was a standout year for KPop Demon Hunters, 2026 has also been noteworthy. The franchise has unveiled various merchandise, including American Girl Dolls and Lego sets, and has partnered with McDonald’s, alongside securing major Grammy wins. The animated feature has even earned a spot in the Criterion Collection, joining other acclaimed titles like Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman.

Though KPop Demon Hunters may have slipped from the Netflix top 10 in the U.S., it’s unlikely to stay down for long. Recently, Netflix confirmed a multiyear writing and directing partnership with directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans for animated projects, likely paving the way for the anticipated sequel, KPop Demon Hunters 2, and the future of the franchise. When that follow-up film drops, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the demon-hunting trio’s original adventure soar back into Netflix’s top 10 alongside its sequel.

KPop Demon Hunters is available for streaming exclusively on Netflix.

And we won’t have to wait too long to see Huntr/x again.
