Leaked Price Reveals Xbox Series X Anniversary Edition as the Priciest Xbox to Date

A new Xbox is on the horizon, and this isn’t about Project Helix. To mark 25 years of Xbox, Microsoft is set to launch a special edition, translucent green Xbox Series X25 this fall. The announcement came during the Xbox Games Showcase in June, but details on pricing and the exact release date were initially kept under wraps.

Recently, a well-known leaker revealed the price for the Xbox Series X25, and it’s quite steep. According to their sources, it will retail for €899.99, which translates to approximately $899.99 in the U.S. This puts it at $100 more than the standard Xbox Series X, which has recently seen a price increase to $799.99. The new price aligns with the cost of a PlayStation 5 Pro following Sony’s price adjustments in March.

The Xbox Series X25 is expected to launch on November 27, coinciding with Black Friday, although the start date for preorders remains unconfirmed.

This anniversary edition will include a special green controller, which will also be available for separate purchase. The controller is reported to be priced at $79.99 and features the classic color scheme of the original Xbox controller, with one bumper in white and the other in black, reminiscent of the original black and white buttons.

Microsoft stated, “The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition respects our history, with the power and performance of the Xbox Series X, including 1 TB of storage, and a design that reflects where we’ve been and the community that’s been with us along the way.”

Here’s what we know, what we think we know, and what we don’t.
