Lego and Hello Kitty Join Forces for a 2027 Collaboration

Hello Kitty is set to make her debut in the world of Lego, as announced by the Lego Group and Sanrio. While details about the specific sets remain under wraps, fans can expect this exciting collaboration to launch in 2027.

The announcement was made through an official post on the Lego website, featuring a charming video showcasing Sanrio’s beloved characters emerging from a Lego bag. Starting in 2027, this partnership aims to bring Hello Kitty and her friends to life in Lego form for the very first time. The teaser video highlighted characters like Hello Kitty, Kuromi, My Melody, Pompompurin, and Cinnamoroll, though it’s uncertain if all of them will be included at launch. Personally, I’m hoping for a Big Challenges appearance!

Lena Dixen from the Lego Group shared her thoughts on the collaboration, stating, “Hello Kitty is an iconic character, an instantly recognizable, global lifestyle phenomenon that has inspired happiness across generations, and her universal appeal pairs perfectly with the imaginative power and limitless possibilities of LEGO play. We hope to create memorable moments of unforgettable fun.”

Wataru Nakatsuka from Sanrio expressed excitement as well, saying, “We look forward to seeing how this partnership will inspire creativity and bring joy across generations in the years ahead.”

In addition to the Hello Kitty and Friends line, the Lego Group has unveiled several new sets recently. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, a Link and Epona set is set to release in 2027. This November, Dragon Ball will also see its first Lego set, marking the beginning of a partnership that will expand with more products next year.

Moreover, three new Batman-themed sets are on the way for early next year. However, it’s worth noting that some sets will be phased out, as the Lego Group has announced that iconic Star Wars, X-Men, and Batman sets will cease production at the end of this year.
