Lego Lord of the Rings Book Nook Now Available at a Discount on Amazon
Fans of the Lord of the Rings can snag a deal on Lego’s Balrog Book Nook for the first time at Amazon. Launched last June, this 1,201-piece building set is now available for $111, down from its original price of $130. When this deal was first noted, it was priced at $117, offering a 10% discount, but now you can enjoy a 15% savings. Discounts on Lord of the Rings Lego sets are quite rare, making this a fantastic opportunity to grab a unique and functional piece for your collection. The LOTR Book Nook fits perfectly among your various editions of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, adding a delightful touch to your Tolkien display. Alternatively, you can open the Book Nook to showcase the buildable Balrog figure alongside your other Lego creations.
On the same release day as the Balrog model, Lego introduced two additional buildable book nooks: Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes. The 832-piece Hogwarts Express Book Nook is priced at $100 and hasn’t seen a discount yet. The 1,359-piece Sherlock Holmes Book Nook is available for $130, but it’s exclusive to select retailers. For fans of Wicked, there’s also the 1,327-piece Glinda & Elphaba Bookends, which are exclusive to Target and the Lego Store, retailing at $130.
The Balrog Book Nook is one of only four actively produced Lord of the Rings-themed Lego sets, all part of the Lego Icons lineup. Notably, it is the most budget-friendly option among them. Just two months prior to the Balrog’s release, Lego launched a 2,017-piece diorama of The Shire, featuring nine minifigures and based on Bilbo Baggins’ eleventy-first birthday party. The Shire set is currently available for $270 at Amazon and the Lego Store.
The other two Lego Icons Lord of the Rings models are massive and rarely discounted at major retailers. The Barad-dûr set, a 5,471-piece replica of Sauron’s stronghold in Mordor, stands at an impressive 17.5 x 12 x 32.5 inches and retails for $460. Meanwhile, the Rivendell model, constructed from 6,167 pieces and measuring 28.5 x 19.5 x 15 inches, includes 15 minifigures and is priced at $500.
