Lego Unveils Its First Dragon Ball Set
Akira Toriyama’s iconic Dragon Ball is making its debut in the world of Lego, as announced by The Lego Company and Toei Animation. The centerpiece of this exciting new set is Shenron, the legendary wish-granting dragon, set to launch this November.
But this isn’t just a standalone release; it’s the start of a fresh collaboration between Lego and Toei, with more Dragon Ball-themed sets expected to roll out in 2027.
The Lego Icons Dragon Ball Shenron & Goku set (11390) comprises 1,764 pieces and stands over 12 inches tall. Alongside Shenron, the set includes a Kid Goku minifigure and a diorama featuring the Dragon Balls. Lego describes the set as capturing the “powerful moment when Shenron emerges from the seven Dragon Balls, with Kid Goku riding his Kintoun at the heart of this scene that celebrates one of anime’s most beloved heroes.”
“For decades, Dragon Ball has captivated fans worldwide, and we’re excited to integrate this legendary universe into the Lego lineup,” stated a senior VP at the Lego Group. “Partnering with Toei Animation gives us a fantastic opportunity to honor the characters and narratives that have made Dragon Ball a lasting phenomenon, while providing fans with a new way to engage with and construct the stories they cherish. The Lego Icons Dragon Ball: Shenron & Goku set is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to see how this collaboration inspires fans to explore the Dragon Ball universe through Lego creativity.”
“We’re excited to bring Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball to life with the Lego Group,” added the president and CEO of Toei Animation. “Soon, fans around the world will experience the iconic characters and thrilling adventures of Dragon Ball in a whole new way through this collaboration. This initial release pays tribute to the original ‘Dragon Ball’ episodic series – and no collection would be complete without these Lego Dragon Ball products.”
The Lego Icons Dragon Ball Shenron & Goku set is priced at $179.99 and will be available in November.
