Lego Unveils Official Daft Punk Set and Hints at Exciting Future Projects
Lego has officially joined forces with Daft Punk to create new “products, content, and brand experiences,” as announced recently. Although Daft Punk, the iconic music duo, disbanded in 2021, their brand continues to thrive. This partnership will see the release of a Daft Punk Lego set, originally conceived by a fan, as an official product. And this is just the beginning of what’s in store from this collaboration.
The partnership kicked off with a short film featuring two classic Daft Punk tracks, “Voyager” from the album *Discovery* and “Human After All” from the album of the same name. Like many of Lego’s recent collaborations, the Danish company promises more exciting developments ahead.
The inspiration for this partnership came from two Lego enthusiasts. The grand prize winner of the Lego Ideas “Music to Our Ears” challenge in 2020, a Lego-built Daft Punk concert stage, has moved from concept to official production: the iconic pyramid stage from Daft Punk’s 2007 Alive tour is being transformed into a Lego set. This design was created by fan Patrick Harbourn and his son, who submitted it to the Lego Ideas program in 2024.
“This all started as a creative escape during lockdown between my son and I because of our shared love of Daft Punk and Lego building,” said Harbourn, the creator of the Lego Ideas Daft Punk Concert submission. “We never imagined it would take off like this. Watching our passion project become part of an official collaboration is an incredible experience, and it highlights what makes the Lego Ideas community so special. A simple idea, shared by fans, can truly evolve into something much larger.”
“The pyramid stage is one of the most recognizable elements of Daft Punk’s visual identity, so it’s fitting that this fan-created design will take center stage in this partnership,” said Cédric Hervet, creative director for Daft Punk. “Fans have always played a crucial role in Daft Punk’s journey, and we’re thrilled to see that creativity reflected in the Lego universe.”
While the exact release date for the Daft Punk Lego set hasn’t been revealed, it is described as “the ultimate symbol of shared fandom and the creative foundation of this partnership.”
In addition to the fan-designed set, which will feature Lego minifigures of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo’s robot personas, Lego promises to “bring Daft Punk to life in new ways across the Lego brand, through a mashup of surprising events and content that blends music, culture, and creative spaces.”
More exciting developments are expected in 2027.
Lego’s collaboration with Daft Punk marks a unique crossover into the realm of pop music. The company typically partners with properties from movies, TV shows, and video games, such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Pokémon, and Batman. However, Lego has recently expanded its musical collaborations, including partnerships with artists like Olivia Rodrigo and K-Pop group Demon Hunters.
If you’ve experienced The Daft Punk Experience in Fortnite, this will feel quite familiar.
