LG Unveils Sneak Peek of Innovative Home Robot for Chore Management

LG is gearing up to unveil a new robot that promises to tackle a variety of household tasks. Named LG CLOiD, this innovative device will be showcased at CES next month and boasts two articulated arms, each equipped with five individually moving fingers.

While we currently have just a description and a couple of images highlighting CLOiD’s dexterous hands, it’s clear that this robot is a significant departure from the two-wheeled home assistant LG introduced last year, which featured a handle instead of arms.

LG claims that CLOiD’s motorized arms offer seven degrees of freedom, providing a more human-like range of motion and flexibility. In addition to a chipset located in its “head,” the robot is outfitted with a display, speaker, camera, and sensors designed for voice interaction, expressive communication, and navigation. It also incorporates LG’s “Affectionate Intelligence” technology, which aims to enhance its ability to understand and empathize with users.

With CES just around the corner, we won’t have to wait long to see the full capabilities of CLOiD and whether it can finally handle tasks like taking out the trash for us.
