LG Unveils the Lightest 17-Inch Laptop with RTX Graphics
LG is gearing up to unveil its 2026 Gram Pro laptops at CES, boasting what it claims will be the “world’s lightest 17-inch RTX laptop.” The LG Gram Pro 17 (17Z90UR) and Gram Pro 16 (16Z90U) will showcase a new ultralight material called “Aerominum,” designed to cut down on weight while enhancing durability and scratch resistance.
The Gram Pro 17 will sport a 2,560 x 1600 display and come equipped with Nvidia’s RTX 5050 laptop GPU, featuring 8GB of VRAM. While LG asserts that this setup will deliver sufficient performance for graphics-heavy tasks, content creation, and gaming, it’s important to note that running most modern games at maximum settings may not be feasible. Therefore, the Gram Pro 17 shouldn’t be viewed as a dedicated gaming machine. The exact weight of the Gram Pro 17 remains under wraps, but it will be a US-exclusive at launch.
Details on the Gram Pro 16’s weight are also pending. This model will include a 2,880 x 1,800 OLED display and Intel’s latest Core Ultra processors. LG claims it will be “the lightest 16-inch laptop in its class” to incorporate both on-device and cloud-based AI. Pricing and release dates for both laptops are still to be announced, likely awaiting the official CES reveal next week.
