Limited-Time Deals on PS5, PlayStation Portal, and DualSense Controllers

Sony’s annual PlayStation sale has been running for almost a month, featuring discounts on a range of products, including the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, PlayStation Portal, and the DualSense controller. However, time is running out, as some deals are set to expire as early as Friday, December 19th, while others will last until December 28th. This is your last chance to grab a gift for yourself or a fellow gamer.

The PS5 Digital Edition is currently available for $399, a $100 discount, making it the best price of the year. This version is the most affordable in Sony’s lineup but lacks a disc drive, meaning all games must be downloaded. With many modern titles exceeding 50GB, a reliable internet connection is essential. If you later decide you want to play physical games, you can purchase an external disc drive for $79.99.

The standard PlayStation 5 slim is also on sale for $449, matching its lowest price of the year with a $100 discount. It includes a built-in disc drive, allowing you to enjoy older PlayStation titles, the latest PS5 games, and Blu-rays right out of the box. If you prefer physical media, this model is more cost-effective than buying the Digital Edition and an external drive separately.

For those seeking more power, the PlayStation 5 Pro is available for around $649, also matching its all-time low with a $101 discount. The PS5 Pro boasts a larger GPU, faster memory, enhanced ray tracing, Wi-Fi 7 support, and AI-based upscaling. While it can run “PS5 Pro Enhanced” titles at higher resolutions and frame rates, there are no exclusive games for this model. The graphical improvements are subtle and mostly noticeable when sitting close to the screen.

The PlayStation Portal is down to $178.99, a $21 discount, and offers a versatile gaming experience. Initially designed to stream games from the PS5 via Wi-Fi, it now includes a cloud streaming feature for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, allowing access to select PS5 games directly from the cloud. Users can also stream titles from their library without needing to connect to their PS5.

Lastly, the DualSense Wireless Controller is available for $54, a $21 discount, until December 19th. This controller enhances gameplay with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, and it’s compatible with macOS and Windows for those who game on multiple platforms. While the PS5 and Portal may not arrive in time for Christmas, the DualSense is set to be delivered on the big day.

The Pulse Explore wireless earbuds are also on sale for around $169, a $31 discount, marking their best price yet. Designed specifically for Sony’s consoles, they provide lossless, ultra-low-latency audio using the PlayStation Link protocol. The earbuds deliver impressive sound quality, and they can also be paired with phones and other Bluetooth devices for everyday use.
