Live-Action Masters of the Universe Trailer Unveils Prince Adam, Man-at-Arms, and More

Amazon MGM Studios is gearing up to unveil its new *Masters of the Universe* movie this Thursday, but a teaser trailer has already given us a sneak peek at some of the film’s heroes and the enchanting world of Eternia. We catch glimpses of Nicholas Galitzine’s Prince Adam alongside his allies, Man-at-Arms, Teela, and Battle Cat.

However, fans will have to hold tight for a proper look at the film’s leads, He-Man and Jared Leto’s Skeletor, as they remain under wraps for now. The full reveal is set for Thursday morning, where we can expect to see all the iconic heroes and villains from this action figure-inspired adventure.

What we’ve seen so far is encouraging. Idris Elba as Man-at-Arms and Camila Mendes as Teela appear true to their character designs, and the CGI rendition of Cringer/Battle Cat looks spot on. This brief glimpse suggests that *Masters of the Universe* is poised to honor the beloved design of the massive feline.

The live-action *Masters of the Universe* will follow 10-year-old Prince Adam, who crash-lands on Earth in a spaceship, becoming separated from his magical Power Sword—the only connection to his home on Eternia. Nearly two decades later, after finally tracking it down, Prince Adam is transported back across space to defend his home planet from the sinister forces of Skeletor.

Directed by Travis Knight, known for *Kubo and the Two Strings* and *Bumblebee*, the film is based on a screenplay by Chris Butler, who has worked on *ParaNorman* and *Missing Link*.

*Masters of the Universe* first burst onto the scene in 1982 with a line of action figures, leading to the animated series *He-Man and the Masters of the Universe*. Although the original series ran for just two seasons and 130 episodes, it spawned numerous spinoffs, including *She-Ra: Princess of Power*, sequel series (including two animated series on Netflix), and animated films.

Mark your calendars: the new *Masters of the Universe* is set to hit theaters on June 5, 2026.
