Logitech Unveils Enhanced Haptic Gaming Mouse at a $20 Premium
The G Pro Superstrike mouse stands out in Logitech’s lineup. Instead of traditional mechanical switches, it features haptic actuators under its main buttons, which reduces latency and allows for a customizable click feel—ranging from subtle to more pronounced, or even completely muted. This technology first appeared in the G Pro X2 Superstrike back in February, and now we have a new iteration, though it feels more like an incremental upgrade than a full sequel.
The G Pro X3 Superstrike launches on October 6th for $199.99, available in eye-catching pink or classic black. The X2 will still be on the market at $179.99. Key enhancements in the new model include a more responsive sensor, longer battery life, and better weight distribution. For casual gamers, these upgrades may seem minor, and unless you’re a competitive player, they might not significantly impact your gaming sessions.
The X3 boasts an impressive 8,000Hz polling rate for both wired and wireless use, a notable jump from the X2’s 1,000Hz wired limit. It can last up to 135 hours on a single charge, surpassing the X2’s 90-hour claim, all while being two grams lighter in the US version (61 grams compared to the EMEA version). Other improvements include a Hero 2 sensor with a higher resolution ceiling (48K DPI versus 44K DPI in the X2), increased acceleration (90G compared to 88G), and a maximum speed of 930 IPS, up from 888 IPS in the X2.
It’s a bit surprising to see Logitech release a follow-up to the X2 Superstrike so soon with only modest feature enhancements. However, the continued availability of the older model allows more gamers to experience its enjoyable haptic feedback at a lower price. Notably, the X2 recently saw a temporary price drop to $129.99, so a similar deal might be on the horizon as the holiday season approaches.
Correction, September 24th, 9:03am ET: The X2 supports 8,000Hz polling wirelessly, not wired, as this story initially stated. We regret the error.
