Marvel Aims to Make Avengers: Doomsday the Major Highlight of 2026
Does MrBeast really have zero cash in his bank account? Is Marvel seriously expecting fans to stare at a countdown timer for an entire year? And how many more trailers and sneak peeks do we need for Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil game? Welcome to the latest edition of Morning Checkpoint, your daily dose of gaming news, rumors, and culture.
Somehow, my friends and I have plunged into a Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel obsession on PlayStation, and there’s no escape in sight. Every night, at least a couple of friends are online battling it out. The amount of cash some players have dropped on new decks is a bit wild. We all grew up with the classic card game, so it’s no surprise we’re having a blast. But how long can this last? Right now, I don’t see an end, and that’s fine because my Skull Servant deck is still eager for more victories.
After the latest Avengers: Doomsday teaser featuring The Thing and Shuri, Marvel has kicked off a countdown stream. This countdown stretches a whopping 11 months, ending when the new Avengers sequel hits theaters. I can’t imagine Marvel actually keeping this up for that long. But it does give them a chance to tease other projects endlessly with random sounds or lights, making fans and entertainment journalists watch every single second.
In a recent interview, the online star mentioned he’s rich in equity but low on cash. He’s working so hard that he claims to have “negative money” in his bank account. What happens when a million haters compete for $500,000 to see who can pull out the tiniest violin? This isn’t the first time MrBeast has expressed some regret about his YouTube fame.
“No one ever believes anything I say because they’re like, ‘you’re a billionaire.’ I’m like, that’s net worth. Actually, I have negative money right now,” he said. “I’m borrowing money, that’s how little I have. Technically, everyone watching this video has more money than me in their bank account if you subtract the equity value of my company, which doesn’t buy me McDonald’s in the morning or whatever.”
At this point, Capcom has shared a lot about the upcoming Resident Evil game, Requiem, ahead of its February release. But it seems there’s still more to come, as the company has announced a new Resident Evil Showcase set for January 15. There are also whispers that Capcom might have a surprise announcement or an extra game to unveil, but for now, that’s just speculation floating around online.
The long-running MMORPG revealed last week that it’s revamping how new expansions work. Instead of one major paid chapter each year, the game will now feature smaller, seasonal updates that come free alongside premium battle passes. These changes are set to roll out later in the spring with “Season 0: Dawn and Dusk” on April 2, but many tweaks are already available for testing on the game’s test server right now.
