Marvel Reveals Rare Indiana Jones Comics in Exclusive Collector’s Edition

Marvel is taking us back to the ’80s with an exciting hardcover collection of Indiana Jones comics. This announcement reveals that Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures will be available in two “leatherette” volumes, featuring adaptations from the films alongside an original series chronicling the archaeologist’s escapades.

During the ’80s, Marvel adapted the first three Indiana Jones films into comics: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. They also launched a monthly series titled The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones, which introduced both familiar characters and new faces in fresh narratives. This series ran for 34 issues from 1983 to 1986.

Later, Dark Horse reprinted Marvel’s Indiana Jones comics in three omnibuses, but finding them at a reasonable price has become quite the quest. Currently, these omnibuses are being resold on Amazon for prices ranging from $199.99 to $799.99. Searching for the original comics on eBay isn’t much easier, with complete lots of The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones listed for $150 to $199.

The collection features contributions from notable creators like John Buscema, John Byrne, David Michelinie, Dennis O’Neil, and Walt Simonson. The two-volume set boasts leatherette binding, debossed covers, and ribbon bookmarks, though sadly, no fedora is included.

Each volume will be priced at $75, with both set to release on September 29.
