Marvel Rivals Developer Set to Address Emerging Exploit Issues
Marvel Rivals recently revamped its hero proficiency system, introducing new rewards that players can earn. Among these rewards are the coveted Lord icons, which require significant grinding to unlock. This has sparked a trend known as “Lord farming,” where players remain stationary after spawning in a match, spamming their abilities to safely rack up proficiency points. This tactic has resulted in some lopsided matches, prompting the developers to announce plans to tackle the issue in an upcoming update. While a specific release date for this update hasn’t been provided, players should brace for strict penalties if caught engaging in this farming behavior. The developers noted, “We’ve observed that some players are exploiting matches by staying still and repeatedly farming stats to gain hero proficiency points. This disrupts normal gameplay and negatively impacts the experience for others. To combat this, we are planning to implement a combat behavior detection system. Players found participating in such actions may face penalties, including warnings, short-term suspensions, long-term suspensions, or even permanent account bans. We encourage all players to help us maintain a fair and enjoyable gaming environment.”
In addition to addressing these issues, Marvel Rivals has been expanding its offerings with new modes and heroes over the past few months. Last year saw the introduction of Rogue and Gambit, while Deadpool joined the roster when Season 6 kicked off on January 16. As a versatile character, Deadpool can take on roles as a Duelist, Vanguard, or Strategist, with the ability to upgrade his skills during matches. Season 6 also brought team-up balance adjustments, the Collector’s museum, a dueling arena, and a photo mode. The next hero set to join Marvel Rivals will be the monster-hunter Elsa Bloodstone, making her debut midway through the current season.
