Mega Shiny Cards Debut in New Pokémon TCG Pocket Booster Pack

The Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is set to launch its latest booster pack, Mega Shine, on March 25. This new pack introduces Mega shiny Pokémon to the game for the first time, featuring Mega Charizard X and Mega Gengar as the standout cards.

Over the past year, Pokémon TCG Pocket has gradually broadened the range of rare monsters in each set. Shiny Pokémon made their debut in the card-collecting game last March, followed by Mega Pokémon in October. Mega Shine will merge these two elements, offering a collection filled with rare cards.

A brief reveal trailer showcases some of the collectible cards. While Mega Charizard X and Mega Gengar take the spotlight, players can also look forward to shiny versions of Dragonair, Ponyta, Pineco, and Zorua. Additionally, the set will include non-shiny cards like Phione and a new full-art Empoleon. A press release hints at new “dynamic” cards that shimmer when tilted.

Beyond that, details about the set remain somewhat elusive. The trailer doesn’t reveal any new tool or stadium cards, but it does provide a sneak peek at a new trainer card featuring Calem from Pokémon X and Y.

As part of the update, several familiar events will also return. An April event will focus on Slowpoke, alongside a Wonder Pick event featuring Gastly and Wigglytuff. Notably, a Community Week event is on the horizon, offering players new accessories and hourglasses for sharing and trading cards with friends. It’s the perfect opportunity for someone to hand over a Mega Ampharos ex.

Mega Shine will be available in Pokémon TCG Pocket on March 25 at 6 p.m. PDT/9 p.m. EDT.
