Meta AI Launches New App for Mac Users
Meta is rolling out a new Mac app specifically designed for its AI chatbot. In a recent announcement, the company revealed that users can share their screen with the AI, which can offer suggestions, answer queries, or generate content based on what’s displayed. The Meta AI app on Mac also features dictation capabilities that work across all applications.
This launch positions Meta’s AI chatbot as a productivity-oriented assistant, aiming to enhance its competitiveness against other AI tools that already have desktop applications. For instance, users can share their screens with Google’s Gemini AI, while OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Anthropic’s Claude take it a step further by allowing their chatbots to take control of your computer.
In addition to the new app, Meta is unveiling enhanced AI features for businesses and creators. The app, available on the web, mobile, and Mac, can now integrate directly with Instagram and Facebook accounts, Meta ad campaigns, and Google Workspace.
For example, the AI chatbot can evaluate the engagement of posts, including likes, shares, and saves, to provide tailored suggestions for future content. It can also gather information from a business’s account and the web to create presentations, documents, and spreadsheets, as well as automate recurring tasks like delivering weekly performance reports.
