Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War Launching on Switch 2 Next Week
Aspyr, known for its work on titles like Tomb Raider and Star Wars, has quietly launched store pages for both Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop, despite no prior announcements for these versions. Both games are set to release on September 30, which is exciting news!
A Reddit user was the first to notice this, and we confirmed it by checking the eShop ourselves.
In the midst of writing this, Aspyr also released a brief trailer.
The base price for Shadow of Mordor is $20, while Shadow of War is priced at $50. However, there’s a bundle option available for $70 that includes both games. For the next two weeks, though, they’re on sale: Shadow of Mordor is just $10, Shadow of War is $25, and the bundle is $35. While these prices are a bit steep compared to frequent sales on Steam, it’s the nature of the market. Both games come with their expansion and Season Pass content included.
Shadow of Mordor debuted over a decade ago in 2014, and Shadow of War followed in 2017. Both titles have been available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, receiving high praise from both critics and players. The standout feature of these games is the Nemesis system, which allows enemies to remember past encounters, grow stronger, and adapt their strategies based on previous battles with the player.
This marks the first time either game will be available on a Nintendo system, and fans have been eagerly requesting a port like this for years. Kudos to the person who spotted this first!
