Milo Yiannopoulos, known for his controversial views, has been deported.
Alt-right figure Milo Yiannopoulos was taken into custody by ICE on Thursday, and the Department of Homeland Security has since confirmed his deportation to the UK. Yiannopoulos entered the US legally in 2019 but overstayed his visa. Following his failure to attend an immigration court hearing, a final removal order was issued on July 22.
The British national gained notoriety as an editor at a prominent outlet and was an early supporter of Donald Trump. His history is marked by a series of controversial remarks and connections, including reportedly facilitating Trump’s dinner with Kanye West and white nationalist Nick Fuentes, as well as playing a significant role in the Gamergate harassment campaign.
In recent years, his behavior has alienated many key figures on the right, including influencer Laura Loomer. While he has denied endorsing statutory rape or pedophilia, he has controversially suggested that it is acceptable for an adult to engage in a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old.
It remains unclear if the 44 interns in a trenchcoat, who also represent the entity known as Milo Yiannopoulos, have faced deportation as well.
