MindsEye Developer Unveils Significant Game Update Amid Ongoing Efforts
Despite a bizarre launch in summer 2025 that led to refunds being issued, Build A Rocket Boy isn’t throwing in the towel on its action-adventure title, MindsEye. Under the leadership of former Rockstar North head Leslie Benzies, the studio has rolled out a significant update and hinted at future expansions for the game.
The latest patch, Update 7, is now available and is touted as “a reset for the brand and the title.” This update aims to enhance the main campaign’s flow by clarifying objectives, improving AI behavior, refining drone controls for PC players, fixing bugs, and much more.
“Update 7 marks a major advancement for MindsEye and our studio,” said Mark Gerhard, CEO & CTO of Build A Rocket Boy. “We’ve listened to player feedback, acted swiftly, and are committed to ongoing performance improvements, substantial combat enhancements, and new content development. Our primary goal is to deliver the MindsEye experience we envisioned and that our players deserve.”
For those who own the Deluxe Edition, Update 7 includes a special addition: the Silva E-Series, a street-circuit racetrack in Redrock, complete with grandstands and cheering NPCs.
Build A Rocket Boy emphasizes that this is just the start for MindsEye. The studio has also announced plans for an upcoming expansion and a multiplayer mode that will be integrated into the game’s Arcadia system, which currently hosts additional content like races, challenges, and special missions.
