Modder Creates Ultimate Gaming Machine by Merging PS5, Xbox Series X, and Switch 2: “End the Console War!”

For as long as gamers can remember, there’s been a dream of ending the console wars—a day when everyone can enjoy a single console, free from the divides of PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo. Over the years, various all-in-one console mod projects have emerged, but few have matched the sheer creativity of the Ningtendo PXBOX 5.

Sure, the name might be a mouthful, but this creation by Chinese modder 小宁子 XNZ is a stunning piece of tech. At first glance, it appears to be a sleek consumer electronics device, but it’s actually a custom shell housing a PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch 2, complete with a button on top that lets you switch between the three consoles. A vibrant light on the front changes color—blue, green, or red—depending on which system is active.

A video detailing the console’s creation was shared in November and has since gained attention. The design features an aluminum cooling structure reminiscent of the iconic 2013 Mac Pro “trash can,” which XNZ describes as “the most beautiful Mac desktop ever made.” Watching the process of creating an aluminum mold at a consumer level is a treat in itself.

All three consoles draw power from a 250W PC power supply, which is sufficient to run one console at full power while the others remain in standby. The Xbox Series X and PS5 are disassembled, with their motherboards integrated into the structure, while the Switch 2 fits into a custom dock, allowing for portable play whenever you want.

Some might dismiss this as just a fancy HDMI switcher, and while I’m not about to dismantle my consoles to replicate it, there’s something enchanting about having all three systems in one unit and being able to switch between them in seconds. “At first, I just wanted to make it as a joke, but I didn’t expect it to be actually useful,” XNZ admits.

There have been other projects that combine modern consoles into a single device. I fondly recall early-2000s TechTV and Yoshi’s Boxx, a custom gaming PC that housed the original Xbox, GameCube, and PS2 alongside an NES and Atari 2600. It was clunky, but undeniably charming.

The Ningtendo PXBOX 5 is even more impressive, yet it captures that same spirit. “I hope it can keep working for a long time,” XNZ concludes, “serving as a reminder to those who keep making exclusive games: stop what you’re doing. Quit fighting! Stop the console war!”

At last, the best PS5 games, the best Xbox Series X games, and the best Switch 2 games can all coexist in one place.
