Motorola unveils the price of the Razr Fold, and it’s quite a surprise!

2026 is gearing up to be a challenging year for launching high-end smartphones. With the ongoing memory crisis driving up prices, what was already an expensive device could become prohibitively costly. This seems to be the case with the Razr Fold, which is set to hit the US market at a staggering $1,900 on May 14th. Keep in mind, this price doesn’t include the Moto Pen Ultra stylus, which adds another $100 to the tab.

Motorola has gradually revealed some specs since the device’s initial showcase at CES, and early indications suggested it wouldn’t be the budget-friendly folding phone that many are hoping for. Today’s announcement confirms this, placing it right between the $1,800 Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold and the $2,000 Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7.

This pricing puts the Razr Fold in a bit of a tricky position. While it’s noticeably thinner and lighter than the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, it falls short in terms of dust resistance. The Razr is rated IP48/IP49, meaning it’s only protected against “small particles.” The Galaxy Z Fold 7 also lacks dust resistance but is slightly slimmer than the Razr.

One potential advantage for the Razr Fold is its impressive 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which offers a significantly higher capacity than its competitors. While the battery life on the Fold 7 and 10 Pro Fold is decent, the Razr Fold’s could potentially be outstanding. This wouldn’t be unprecedented for a book-style foldable, but it would mark a first for one available in North America.

Having seen the Razr Fold in person a few times, it’s nice to finally know its price. However, I’m left with more questions: Will it truly deliver on the promise of enhanced battery life? For $1,900? In this economy? Motorola is certainly banking on it.
