Native Instruments Komplete 26 Introduces Unique Synths and Experimental Piano Sounds
The latest iteration of Native Instruments’ Komplete music production suite has arrived, featuring 62 fresh additions, including the delightfully eccentric Absynth 6. Komplete 26 is available in various tiers, starting with three $99 Select bundles: Beats, Band, and Electronic. From there, prices escalate significantly, with the Standard version at $549, the Ultimate at $1,249, and the Collector’s Edition hitting a staggering $1,949. If you’re upgrading from Komplete 15, you can save some cash (note that they’ve shifted from sequential numbers to years for 2026), but even upgrading to the Collector’s Edition will still cost you $399.
For most producers, Komplete 26 Standard offers more than enough. Absynth 6 and Massive X handle a wide range of synth requirements. Kontakt 8 remains the go-to for sample-based instruments, encompassing orchestras, drums, choirs, and beyond. It also includes tools for sequencing and crafting chord progressions to spark your creativity. Additionally, Guitar Rig 7 Pro provides effects and amp simulations. Komplete also bundles mixing and mastering plugins from iZotope, such as Ozone 12, Neutron 5, and Nectar 4.
Upgrading from the Standard Bundle to the Ultimate or Collector’s Edition unlocks new features like Claire and Claire: Avant, two sampled Steinway D grand piano instruments that deliver both classic acoustic sounds and innovative textures. There’s also a variety of new content, including LCO Producer Strings and Moments: Vocal Clouds, aimed at scoring projects. Keep in mind that all these extra sampled instruments and expansion packs contribute to a hefty download size, with the Collector’s Edition clocking in at 1.6 TB.
