Neopets Make Their Debut in Fortnite

Fortnite continues to expand its universe, and this time it’s welcoming a beloved character from the classic virtual pet game, Neopets. The iconic Aisha will be making its debut in Fortnite next month, likely joining the ranks of the game’s charming Sidekicks.

Since the introduction of Sidekicks in November, Fortnite has seen a variety of adorable companions, including dogs, cats, birds, and dragons, as well as familiar faces like SpongeBob SquarePants, the Toy Story Alien, Adventure Time’s Peppermint Butler, Rick & Morty’s Snowball, and Itchy from The Simpsons.

Details on how Aisha will be integrated into the game are still under wraps, but many Millennials who fondly recall nurturing virtual pets on their family computers are probably already saving up their V-Bucks for this nostalgic addition. (They might just cost the equivalent of a single avocado toast, after all.)

Neopets first launched in 1999, created by Adam and Donna Powell, and quickly became a favorite among young players. During its peak, Neopets was a pioneering platform for kids to connect, create, and engage with a rich narrative filled with cute creatures and magical faeries.

Over the years, Neopets has changed ownership several times, and as of 2023, it is under the management of World of Neopia. This company has revived many classic Neopets Flash games and is also working on a Pokémon-like trading card game. With Aisha’s arrival in Fortnite, the revival of Neopets is set to reach new heights, and who knows what other surprises await if players are willing to spend their V-Bucks.
