Following the success of series like Long Story Short and Splinter Cell: Deathwatch in 2025, Netflix is ramping up its adult animation offerings in 2026. The latest addition is Bass X Machina, a steampunk Western featuring Brian Tyree Henry from Into the Spider-Verse.

According to the official synopsis, “Bass X Machina is set in a lawless Steampunk West filled with ruthless outlaws, machines, and supernatural threats, where a father must take on the roles of judge, jury, and executioner, knowing that every act of justice meant to protect his family could ultimately cost him the very people he’s trying to save.”

The animation will be produced by South Korea’s Studio Mir, known for their work on Marvel’s X-Men ’97 and Netflix’s Devil May Cry.

Henry voices the titular character, Bass, and also serves as an executive producer. The voice cast features Janelle Monáe from Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and Tati Gabrielle from The Last of Us, along with Cree Summer, Chaske Spencer, Currie Graham, and Starletta DuPois.

In addition to voicing Jefferson Davis, Miles Morales’ father in Into the Spider-Verse and its sequels, Henry has lent his voice to various animated series, including Big Mouth, Bojack Horseman, and HouseBroken.

Bass X Machina premieres on Netflix on October 6. In the meantime, check out our guide to everything new on Netflix in February 2026 to fill your watchlist.
