Netflix to Stream Epic Anime Battle from 2026

Action anime fans, get ready: Jujutsu Kaisen’s third season, The Culling Game Part 1, is set to hit Netflix on July 22. The first two seasons and the prequel film, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, are already available on the platform.

The latest season of this beloved battle shonen aired from January 9 to March 27, featuring 12 episodes that delivered a solid experience. Following Mappa’s adaptation of the Shibuya Incident arc, which left some fans divided due to its stunning moments like Episode 37, “Red Scale,” contrasted with noticeable dips in animation quality, the new season has shown much more consistency.

This season does a fantastic job of incorporating side characters, with public defender Hiromi Higuruma standing out as one of the most intriguing figures. It also showcases some of the series’ most thrilling battles. Notably, the clash between Megumi and Reggie Star is a unique encounter that cleverly involves cash register receipts and sorcery loopholes. However, many fans are likely to highlight the intense showdown in Episode 51, “Perfect Preparation,” and Episode 59, “Sendai Colony.”

The climactic Sendai Colony fight is a fan favorite, featuring a four-way battle among quickly established characters that literally soars into the stratosphere. This sequence adapts one of the most iconic panels from the manga, showcasing three sorcerers unleashing their domains, and is a remarkable display of technical action animation.

On the other hand, Maki’s confrontation with the Zenin clan strikes a perfect balance between style and substance, serving as both a fierce critique of Jujutsu Sorcerer conservatism and a visually stunning display of combat (with plenty of Kill Bill nods). This fight not only ranks among JJK’s best but is arguably one of the finest animated action sequences in recent memory. Regardless of your favorite, Netflix securing the third season is a significant win for fans.

While Crunchyroll boasts the largest anime catalog, Netflix has made a concerted effort to acquire many of the most popular series in recent years. The platform features well-known Shonen Jump adaptations like One Piece, My Hero Academia, Hunter x Hunter, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Demon Slayer, Dandadan, Naruto, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, along with excellent exclusives like The Summer Hikaru Died, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Delicious in Dungeon, and The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity. This doesn’t even touch on classics like Mob Psycho 100, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Frieren, and Madoka Magica.

While the ongoing rollout of the highly anticipated JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run may feel like a test of patience for viewers, it’s clear that Netflix has curated an impressive selection of what anime has to offer. The addition of Jujutsu Kaisen’s third season is just the latest example of this trend.

With so many incredible fights in the battle shonen genre, fans are truly spoiled for choice.
