New Avatar Game DLC Hints at Quaritch’s Destiny in Avatar 4

Avatar: Fire and Ash spoilers ahead

Speculation about Quaritch’s fate at the end of Avatar: Fire and Ash has been put to rest thanks to a recent Avatar video game, where he makes a brief appearance giving orders to one of his majors. This revelation has split fans into two camps: those who anticipated his survival and those who are taken aback. Regardless, everyone is excited to see the antagonist still in play for Avatar 4, should it happen.

So, what actually happens to Quaritch at the conclusion of the third film? For a detailed breakdown, check out our Avatar 3 ending explained guide. In short, he leaps away from Jake Sully’s attempt at peace and into the fiery chaos below. Many viewers assumed he was dead, but we never actually witness his demise. While the specifics of his survival remain unclear, a new clip from the game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes confirms he is very much alive.

In a clip shared by a fan, which is part of the game’s credits, Quaritch can be heard speaking to Major Bukowski, stating, “A little banshee told me we’re down four of Varang’s heavy hitters.” He continues, “Things are far from optimal all round. I need you back at Bridgehead. Pack your trash and get out of there zero dark early.” When asked if they’re pulling out of the Western Frontier, Quaritch responds, “Hell no. You’ll keep running things remotely. Maintain pressure and let those insurgents simmer. It’s time we regroup and reassess.”

Fans of Avatar took to social media to express their thoughts on this news. One user noted, “It was kinda obvious he didn’t die. Dude was too important and we never saw his body,” while others seemed puzzled about the timeline, particularly regarding where Fire and Ash and From the Ashes fit in.

According to Fandom, the events of From the Ashes occur a few weeks after James Cameron’s latest film, confirming that Quaritch is indeed alive. In fact, he may play a significant role in the next installment of the franchise.
