New Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Unites the Fantastic Four with Black Panther
The trailer for Avengers: Doomsday has officially dropped, and it marks the much-anticipated debut of the Fantastic Four in the MCU.
After teasing fans with glimpses of Steve Rogers, Thor, and the X-Men, it’s now the Fantastic Four’s turn to shine, alongside Letitia Wright’s Shuri, the new Black Panther.
In the newly released clip, we catch a first look at Shuri’s Black Panther suit, Tenoch Huerta’s Namor, and a new chapter for Wakanda with Winston Duke stepping in as king M’Baku.
“I’ve lost everyone that matters to me,” Shuri reflects in a voiceover. “The king has his duties to prepare our people for the afterlife. I have mine.” The scene shifts to a ship landing in Wakanda.
“King M’Baku of Wakanda,” Duke’s character introduces himself. “Ben,” replies the Thing. “Yancy Street. Between Broom and Grand,” referencing his fictional New York City roots.
This crossover between the Fantastic Four and Wakanda aligns perfectly with comic lore, as Namor made his first appearance in a Fantastic Four comic back in the ’60s. Additionally, Wakanda is poised to play a significant role in this film and its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, given that T’Challa, portrayed by the late Chadwick Boseman, is a pivotal character in the Secret Wars storyline.
Joining Wright and Huerta are Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon-Moss Bachrach, all part of Marvel’s First Family. The cast also features Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and more.
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18. In the meantime, get ready for the next wave of Marvel excitement with a look at all the upcoming movies and shows in Phase 6.
