New Clip from Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse Surfaces Online

Fans are in for a long wait until Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the third installment in the series, hits theaters next year. The ending of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse left viewers hanging, and not everyone is keen to bide their time until the next film drops.

On August 13, some leaks related to Beyond the Spider-Verse made their way online, sparking curiosity among fans. Initially, still images surfaced, offering a glimpse of the Prowler but lacking any substantial new details about the film. These images are rumored to have originated from CinemaCon, but their authenticity remains in question, especially with the rise of AI-generated art.

The more significant leak featured four minutes of footage from Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, likely showcasing the film’s opening scene. This segment appears to pick up right where Across the Spider-Verse left off, with Miles and the Prowler in conversation. It then transitions to the other main characters, suggesting that the story will launch from this point.

Despite Sony’s efforts to remove the leaked footage, it has spread widely across social media, with numerous accounts reposting it. Various dataminers and leakers have shared the clip, making it difficult to trace back to the original source.

While some fans are thrilled to catch an early glimpse of what’s to come in Beyond the Spider-Verse, others have expressed their discontent. The leaked material is copyrighted and was shared without permission, potentially spoiling the experience for those who prefer to avoid spoilers.

Even though the footage appears genuine, advancements in artificial intelligence mean that it’s possible for AI to create videos that look just as convincing. For now, fans will have to wait for more updates to determine the legitimacy of the clip. In the meantime, Sony is likely to continue its efforts to track down and eliminate any unauthorized sharing of the footage.

Miles Morales and the Spider-Verse are set to return for Father’s Day weekend next year.
