New Clip from Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 Reveals a Strategy to Defeat Vecna with Help from a “Wizard” and His Powers

The first teaser for Stranger Things season 5 volume 2 has dropped, and Joyce is definitely fired up. After the events of volume 1 episode 4, it’s hard to blame her.

In this short clip, shared by the Duffer brothers on a late-night show, an enthusiastic Joyce lays out her bold new strategy to take down Vecna. Naturally, it hinges on Will and his newly discovered “wizard” abilities (though, to be fair, he’s more of a sorcerer). Robin questions whether Will really defeated that demogorgon using just his mind, to which Mike chimes in that it was actually three demogorgons, with Lucas adding that it happened “simultaneously.” Joyce believes that getting Will close to the hive mind and letting him unleash his powers will be enough to conquer Vecna… but what about Hopper and Eleven? And where are Nancy, Will, and Jonathan?

Keep in mind, there are only four episodes left in Stranger Things, with the next three set to drop on Netflix on Christmas Day, leading up to the finale on New Year’s Eve. Now that we know Will might be just as powerful, if not more so, than Eleven, the stakes are higher than ever. The combination of Eleven, Eight, and Will looks promising, but the latest trailer suggests the entire crew might be feeling pretty hopeless. We’ll have to wait and see how it all unfolds.
