New Gameplay Trailer for Marvel Rivals Features Rogue Absorbing Powers, Including Her Classic Moves from Marvel vs. Capcom

Marvel Rivals has unveiled an exciting new gameplay trailer featuring the latest addition to its character lineup: the power-absorbing mutant, Rogue.

In the trailer, Rogue showcases her ability to absorb and utilize powers from iconic heroes like Loki, Doctor Strange, and Psylocke, all while delivering their signature lines in her charming southern drawl (her “sayonara” is a standout moment). What really caught my attention, though, was the emphasis on melee combat.

Rogue looks incredibly dynamic as she takes down foes with style, and it seems that NetEase has incorporated her divekick move from Marvel vs. Capcom. Throughout the trailer, you can see her launching into the air for classic fighting game combos before crashing down with her divekick during various grapples.

I can only imagine the effort that went into adding Rogue to Marvel Rivals, and it’s likely that this will be a resource-heavy process as more characters are introduced, each requiring unique voice lines and animations for Rogue. This is fantastic news for longtime Rogue voice actor Lenore Zann, who will have plenty of work ahead.

Rogue is set to join Marvel Rivals with the season 5.5 update, which will also bring a variety of nerfs and buffs to the character roster, launching on December 12.
