New Hades 2 Mod Integrates Entire Hades 1 Experience

Hades 2 is a more expansive experience than its predecessor in every aspect. With additional biomes, gameplay systems, and characters to interact with, the game offers a wealth of content. One player, however, has taken it a step further by creating a mod that enhances the roguelike sequel even more.

Modder NikkelM has introduced the mod Zagreus’ Journey, which allows players to explore Zagreus’ path from Hades to Hades 2. As Melinoë in Hades 2, you can traverse the familiar biomes that Zagreus battled through in the original game: Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium, and the Temple of Styx. The mod description highlights that players can “battle familiar foes and bosses using [Melinoë’s] unique abilities and weapons, meet Zagreus’ old friends, and reconnect with your family’s past – all integrated into the main game as if it was always there.” It brings a wealth of new content to Hades 2, including additional resources, tracks from the original game’s soundtrack, new prophecies to fulfill, and much more.

Reactions to the mod on its YouTube trailer have been overwhelmingly positive. One player commented, “I just finished doing and completing everything in the game yesterday, and this drops. Time to drop another 400 hours into it then.” Another remarked, “This is so well made that I thought it was official.”

The mod has even caught the eye of the developers at Supergiant Games, who expressed their amazement at this user-created content for the PC version of Hades 2.

In terms of official updates, Hades 2 has recently launched on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X after its initial release in 1.0 on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and Windows PC last fall. Alongside this, a new mode was quietly added to the game.

While this new mode is available across platforms, Zagreus’ Journey remains exclusive to PC for Hades 2. You can download the mod from Thunderstore.io. Here’s a rundown of what it includes, according to the mod’s description:
